University Height’s inaugural Juneteenth celebration, commemorating the end of slavery by marking the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, was held in 2022. Now in its third year, the Juneteenth Celebration celebrates the rich culture of African Americans and our community’s diversity and commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. This family-friendly educational and entertaining event features two stages with live music, dance, and spoken word performances; interactive educational and fitness programs; delicious foods and beverages; and select vendors, artists and craftspeople.

The third annual City of University Heights Juneteenth Celebration will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The City of University Heights’ 2024 Juneteenth Celebration is presented by Dollar Bank. Founded in 1855, Dollar Bank is an independent community bank that focuses on empowering the people and communities it serves to do the things they hold dearest. We are grateful for this partnership.
